A repair bench within a day's drive of the big farms. That was the pitch from John Yang, President of Cypher Power Inc., at Mining Disrupt Miami in June 2024. Cypher Power is headquartered in Boston, and Yang said it runs the official Bitmain repair center in Nashville, Tennessee, a 7,000 square foot repair shop and warehouse. Why Nashville?

Yang pointed to the map. He said about 80% of the U.S. population lives east of the Rocky Mountains, and that the big mining farms in places like Georgia, Kentucky and New York are within about 10 hours of the shop. In his words: "So it's going to save you money and going to save you time." The company started in New Hampshire in 2013 in IT and gaming hardware, mined with GPUs from 2017 to 2021, and turned to ASIC mining in 2021.

Today, Yang said, it repairs many miner models, buys and sells used machines, imports new ones from Hong Kong, and helps buyers ship miners to Africa, South Asia and South America. Yang leaned on the official repair status as the reason to trust the company, and he said trust matters in this business. He also mentioned Bitmain's L9, released the week before, which he called the best Dogecoin miner so far, and a side line in GPUs, including the H100. He closed with a joke about the photo on his slide, an AI generated picture he said did not look like him.

When Yang spoke, Bitcoin was at $61,272. Today it is $79,657. The full story is on Mining Disrupt at miningdisrupt dot com, and many more like it play around the clock on Bitcoin Radio.
