Bitcoin, Legos and a Wonky 2026
The December 15, 2025 News Surge asks what Bitcoin really is, runs Saylor's 30% math to 2055, and makes the case for a box of childhood Legos.
A Lego wagon from an old castle set. That is what the host of the Mining Disrupt News Surge held up to the camera on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the end of an episode about what Bitcoin really is.
That day Bitcoin closed at $89,652. On October 26, 2026 it stood at $80,299.
The host started with the network. When he first heard of Bitcoin, he said, he took it for a joke, then for something like another stock. What changed his mind was the network itself, and the place of the individual in it. Governments, in his view, see people as a mass. Bitcoin does not. In his words, "you are not just a number to Bitcoin." He pointed to the petition campaign for Ross Ulbricht, which he signed, and to a new one for the developers of Samourai Wallet, who he said were being prosecuted for writing code that lets people move their own money.
Then came the math. Michael Saylor had said he expects Bitcoin to rise about 30% a year for 20 years. The host ran it out to 30 years and came up with roughly $240 million a coin by 2055. He called the figure insane, and offered a conservative case of $4 million instead.
He also read a line from Jimmy Song about the temptation to spend growing with the price, and described how he and his wife decide each payday how much they can move into Bitcoin.
And then the Legos. For years he had kept his and his brother's childhood bricks in a Rubbermaid bin. He took them out, built the old Wolfpack Renegade set, and found what he called a strange portal into his childhood. His point was not to sell Bitcoin. He still called it the best money he has seen. But, he said, "you cannot build memories in the same way that you can with a physical thing that you can hold." Whatever the hobby, woodworking, plumbing or dance, he said there is a balance to be had.
He closed the week's news with Twenty One going live under the XXI ticker, and a call for 2026: a wonky year, with Powell on his way out, but Bitcoin noticeably higher by December 15, 2026 than it was that day.
