Seven reasons to buy GameStop stock. That was the list read out on the Mining Disrupt News Surge for Monday, March 31, 2025, and the host said the one that mattered most was number five: the signal it sends to other companies.

The list came from a post by The Bitcoin Therapist. It named a clear Bitcoin treasury strategy, Ryan Cohen's track record, more than four billion dollars in cash, a die-hard holder base, that signal, the chance of outsized returns, and a possible new business model. James Lavish put it another way: GameStop had become the next company to realize the value of adding Bitcoin to its treasury.

The host had just come back from the Mining Disrupt expo in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he worked the stage. He said he overheard pieces of conversations among people who move tens or hundreds of millions of dollars, and that what he heard left him more bullish than before. He would not say who.

His theme for the week was the gap between generations. He read a post arguing that boomers captured real estate, while millennials and younger generations have Bitcoin, "the greatest asset of all time." He passed on a story he could not confirm, that Barron Trump pushed his father onto the biggest podcasts. The point was the direction of influence, young to old. In his words, "that's how change happens."

He also showed a chart from a post that put MicroStrategy's stock far ahead of every other name on it, with Nvidia the next closest at about a third of its gain. "MicroStrategy is showing people what they can do," the host said, and GameStop would be next.

He recalled how GameStop was all over the news a few years ago and asked listeners to picture that coverage again, with the word Bitcoin in every story. People who own rental properties, with the upkeep, tenants and taxes that come with them, would start to ask why. "And once they realize that dam will blow open."

Michael Saylor, he said, had talked with Cohen about a month before and shared a picture with the words "Welcome to team Bitcoin." Now GameStop was adding Bitcoin to its balance sheet. "The network effect is happening in real time," the host said.

He closed with a pitch for the expo. People on the sidelines watch the change play out; people who know the other players are set.

When this episode was recorded, Bitcoin traded at $82,173. On October 26, 2026 it was $79,783.
