Near the end of a live stream, Jack Mallers of Strike stopped taking questions and told his viewers why. He was talking to his team behind the scenes, he said, and the reality was his lawyers. He would pick up the questions the next week.

On the Mining Disrupt News Surge for Monday, May 5, 2025, the show's host played that moment and asked his audience whether they had caught it. His answer: what mattered was not the questions Mallers skipped but that he said plainly why he was skipping them.

"Nothing about what I just witnessed felt fake," the host said.

He set it against a familiar scene. An executive looks at a pile of questions, says there are a lot of great ones, and wraps up without saying why. Viewers are left to wonder what went unsaid. Mallers, he said, spelled it out. Of course a person in his position has a channel open with counsel while he is live. The host described Mallers as the head of Strike and of a company starting with control of 42,000 Bitcoin, and said that openness from someone at that level is what feels different now.

Earlier in the episode he played a second clip from the same stream, where Mallers laid out why he holds Bitcoin.

"You can make more of anything except Bitcoin."

Mallers went on to say that the goal is to store time, energy, capital and labor in something no one else can make more of. The host's own reading was about time. If you save in something other people can change, he said, they can in effect take your time and energy.

Around those two clips he read posts from the week. Tim Kotzman, whom he called one of the MSTR True North guys, wrote that he was recording a whole month of Bitcoin Treasuries podcast episodes in advance because he thought things were about to accelerate. Andrew, who posts as AP_Abacus, told readers they did not own enough Bitcoin for what was coming. And Bob Burnett of Barefoot Mining had posted a long thread on the OP_RETURN debate, which the host linked rather than read aloud.

He also had news about the show itself. Mining Disrupt was heading to the Irving Convention Center in the Dallas area for November 11 to 13, its eighth expo in as many years. He called Texas the de facto center of US mining and invited newcomers as well as people already in the business.

When the episode was published, Bitcoin traded at $94,071. On October 26, 2026, it was at $80,251.

The host closed by saying big changes are coming and that people like Mallers are at the front of them.
